Lin Yanchen felt something stuck in his left chest, so blocked that it hurt and made him unsure of what to do for a moment.

Chu Xun was still smiling, but Lin Yanchen couldn’t smile at all.

The atmosphere was sad and awkward. Even Chu Xun found himself amazing for still having the mood to joke. “You said you wouldn’t be able to fall asleep. Now that I’ve said it, can you fall asleep?”

Lin Yanchen grabbed hold of Chu Xun’s hand this time around and muttered, “I can’t.”

Before death, farewells in life are nothing. Chu Xun is most grateful for the fact that Xiao Lin allowed him to complete many of his wishes in the final part of his life. Even though he still wants to see more of this world, he’s already satisfied with what he has gotten now.

Lin Yanchen vaguely remembered that feeling he had when he met Chu Xun that day after getting drunk. Chu Xun looked away as he started feeling the sting in his eyes when Lin Yanchen stared at him with those eyes that were full of intense love.

Lin Yanchen put on a straight face and walked in the direction Chu Xun looked away until he was in the older’s line of sight. He continued changing his positions when the older looked away again.

Left with no choice, Chu Xun looked up at Lin Yanchen, took a deep breath and said, “We’re so happy together, so do you have to put us in such a situation? The reason I called for you back then was just to become happier. What’s the point of doing this now? Can’t we just part on good terms? We started all this smiling, so let’s end this with a smile too, alright? It’s for your, and my good.”
