[EDIT 3/10] real name authentication, alipay, next update won’t be any time soon

1. Real name authentication is now compulsory if you want to leave a comment and let it be seen by others. If you don’t complete the authentication, only the author will be able to see your comments.

2. A reader suggested that you can also topup via Alipay Tourpass which can be linked to international credit cards (but you are required to provide your passport). Do try if this method works for you! Having alipay will make a lot of chinese websites more accessible to you.

A reader confirmed that the amount you topped up won’t be freeze if you use alipay!

3. Next update to the guide will likely be after November. Really sorry but I can’t find any time now. The alipay tourpass, real name authentication and the other updates in the app will be added then! Just cleared the spreadsheet questions too. Sorry for responding only now (。í _ ì。)

I did the authentication in the app so I’m only able to show the steps for the app version now.

Just attempt to comment on any chapter and this should pop up:

click 去实名:

menu will appear when you click on 居民身份证:

Just make sure you filled in your details properly, click 下一步 and you are good to go~

The red words:

1. For your security, please use your real name and valid identification to proceed with the next step!

2. Please use your own identification. It is against the law to impersonate others and once discovered, we will ban your account and have the right to report to the authorities.

3. One id can authenticate up to 5 accounts (at most 4 author accounts among the 5). If one of your account violated the rules severely, it may result.in all your accounts getting banned.

Will be sure to check the spreadsheet more often these few days so just send your questions there if any!

  1. Damn that’s just too much.
Asking for real name just for leaving a comment?
But then again, I don’t know Chinese enough to leave a comment, so I guess it doesn’t concern me?
    Still, I don’t like it.
Thank you for the update ❤️
Always appreciate all of your efforts.

    1. 💕 there was a recent incident where an author wrote some inappropriate content in a novel and jj shut down the whole sub-category that novel belongs to to review all the novels there again. and somehow it also led to this change. the website can honestly be very frustrating at times. the only reason we use it is for the authors on their site (°ー°〃)
