Blooming Romance Chapter 24

Just found out Blooming Romance is going to be published as a hardcopy book ahhh ⦿ᡂ⦿ It’s still in the process and the publisher is based in Canada. If interested, I’ll talk about it when details are released! The publisher will be working on a few other novels I read before too so I’m quite excited ahhh. Aiming to get them if the shipping won’t kill o(ﾟДﾟ = ﾟДﾟ)o (All the book published by them will have a english name despite the chinese content haha so I’m quite curious how they will translate blooming romance bc my translation of the title isn’t that close imo gahh)

Lin Yanchen brought Chu Xun from Canada to England.

Once they got off the plane, a luxury car came to pick them up.

“Where are we going?” Chu Xun asked.

Lin Yanchen pulled Chu Xun into the car and lied without blinking, “I ordered a manor package that includes horse riding, boating, as well as fruit forests and rose gardens. I’ll bring you there to have fun.”

Chu Xun gave a “mhm” in response, not thinking too much. He assumed it was one of those simple yet elegant cabins with a stone fireplace inside and a big yard full of flowers that wouldn’t wither in any season, where you can enjoy the natural scenery and might even be able to raise big white geese to guard the house.

The car drove on a road lined with tall beech trees, which provided shade, on both sides.

After an hour’s ride and the flight they took earlier, Chu Xun was weary. He breathed a sigh of relief when the car finally slowed down in front of a huge black carved iron gate, surrounded by a stone fence, that was opening. “We reached?”

Lin Yanchen took a glance outside and said, “Soon. After we go pass the main gate, we’ll reach the villa.”

Chu Xun: “?”

After around another ten minutes of driving upon entering the big iron gate, they reached the villa where men and women, dressed in black and white or dark coloured attires and standing on the stairs, bowed respectfully at them. The person standing in front was a white man who looked about 30 years old. He had glassy blue eyes and the brown hair on his temple was combed neatly. “Good afternoon, dearest guests. I am Adrian. It is my pleasure to serve you.” He spoke with a London accent.

Chu Xun was taken aback by this one after another event and didn’t dare to advance, staying still in his spot.

This is a tad… too ridiculous.

This shouldn’t be possible no matter how resourceful Lin Yanchen is.

“What are waiting for? Follow me.” Lin Yanchen said.

Chu Xun could only follow Lin Yanchen. Before this, he only vaguely had the feeling that there were some mistakes. From being able to rent a sea view villa and a branded car, to settling the booking in a hotel that was initially fully booked and to borrowing a private plane… And now, Lin Yanchen even told him that this is a segment of the tourism package?

Only fools will believe all these lies. He’s not a fool.

Isn’t this too much?

Does Lin Yanchen think that he’s stupid?

Chu Xun suddenly realised something serious. Maybe Xiao Lin… No, Xiao Lin definite isn’t a prostitute who is selling his body… But if he isn’t one, why did he turn up that day? Who exactly is Xiao Lin? What’s his identity? Why is he doing all this for him?

Who on earth is Xiao Lin?

But as Chu Xun was flustered, no matter how he thought and thought… He just couldn’t think it through. Then, his anger deflated.

Forget it. He’s a dying man. What’s the point of being petty about these things?

His encounter with Xiao Lin is just like the dazzling Northern Lights he saw at the Moraine Lake. They are all unexpected, fleeting and wonderful miracles.

So why must he spoil the mood?

He can just enjoy the present; have a great time, then die.

Lin Yanchen turned around and looked at Chu Xun expectantly, “Do you like it here? It’s beautiful, isn’t it?”

Chu Xun nodded and responded with a “mhm”.

Even though this whole thing was overdone, he had at the very least learned to survive in the society and wasn’t scared out of his wits because it. He calmed down and followed Lin Yanchen.

“I’m hungry. Let’s eat first. The cooks here are pretty good. You should try their food.” Lin Yanchen said.

A long and wide wooden dining table was exaggeratedly placed in the dining room. It was the kind of table, usually with two owners sitting on the different ends that were four to five metres apart, Chu Xun had only seen on television and in movies.

But they causually chose to sit together as the handsome butler silently served the food to them. The butler was rather careful, not making any noise as he placed the dishes and utensils down like a ghost.

Then the butler respectfully stood beside them with his hands by his sides.

Chu Xun wasn’t used to being stared at when he was eating, so he couldn’t help but take a few more glances at the butler. The butler was surprisingly good at reading people’s mood and took his leave after saying he had some things to take care of.

Chu Xun and Lin Yanchen were left alone to eat.

Chu Xun was starting to look down on himself for being too ignorant. He was still arrogantly aiming to have a feast and stay in a luxurious house when he left home back then. Yet, now that he is enjoying them, he can’t appreciate them. He finds being in this house even lonelier and that everything is overwhelming. He is unable to describe his feelings properly. It’s just Lin Yanchen and him. If they were in a small house with a small rectangular table instead, he would find it more heartwarming.

Lin Yanchen frowned as he rudely flipped the beef made by the cook with his fork and knife, commenting, “I remember it used to be delicious, but it tastes ordinary now. Your cooking is still the best.”

Chu Xun chuckled. “That’s because there something wrong with your taste bud! I think this is the most delicious meal I’ve ever eaten in my life.”

Chu Xun’s words are always so interesting. The silence in the air was replaced by liveliness. Lin Yanchen thought about it and said, “It’s good, but it’s not delicious… I know how to describe it now.”

“How?” Chu Xun asked.

“It doesn’t taste like home”

Chu Xun pretended to be angry. “You copied what I said.”

Lin Yanchen laughed out loud.

Adrian took a glance inside when he faintly heard the laughter from outside.

It’s been years since he saw Young Master looking so happy. Is it because of the man he brought back?

Apparently, taking a bath immediately after a meal is bad for the body.

Chu Xun and Lin Yanchen held each other’s hands and took a stroll in the garden. Seeing how the plants were evergreen even in winter and trimmed meticulously, the garden was obviously managed by professional gardeners. They walked past the pathway next to the dogwood and black mondo, and saw many plants, which Chu Xun didn’t recognise, along the way. The department he worked in used to be too busy to have plants around in the office. Turning around the corner, they actually saw a bush of bloomed climbing roses in front. It wasn’t big, but it was definitely surprising.

Noticing Chu Xun’s liking for the roses, Lin Yanchen said, “I’ll pluck and put them in the vase in our room for you.”

Chu Xun shook his head. “Don’t pluck them. They will die if you pluck them. I’ll just take a look.”

“They will eventually wither even if I don’t pluck them. Rather than coming so far just to see them, you can put them beside you.” Lin Yanchen reasoned.

Chu Xun emphasised on his seniority. “That’s why I said you’re still young.”

Chu Xun thought that this matter was over, so he didn’t expect to wake up the next morning to find a glass vase filled with those few stalks of rose buds which were ready to bloom. The roses weren’t arranged casually. Instead, there were other flowers around them, making the bunch of flowers in the vase look more beautiful.

Just like fire.

Xiao Lin is quite stubborn.

This is how people interact with each other. Initially, he thought Xiao Lin is someone very rare in this world, seeing how he has an abundance of strengths. After spending some time together, he can pick out some of the younger’s flaws. But those flaws don’t hide the younger’s strengths; they make him more like a human.

Now when Chu Xun recalls the time he just got to know Lin Yanchen, he finally realises how Xiao Lin was so good that he seemed fake back then. Xiao Lin has unknowingly become more and more lively.

Lin Yanchen eagerly brought a set of equestrian clothes over. “Ah Xun, change into these. I’ll take you to ride the horse.”

Chu Xun put aside his clothes and assessed Lin Yanchen. Equestrian clothes are formal attires that evolved from hunter suits. Lin Yanchen’s usual dressing style is young and bold, so it was a nice surprise to see the younger dressed so formally for the first time.

Lin Yanchen blushed under Chu Xun’s gaze. “What’s wrong?”

“Xiao Lin is very good-looking today.” Chu Xun complimented.

Lin Yanchen wasn’t modest at all. “When am I not good-looking?”

“So shameless.”

Chu Xun sat on the side of the bed as he changed his clothes, stepping on a small stool to wear the socks with suspenders attached. Even without looking up, he could feel the burning gaze from Lin Yanchen.

Done putting on the sock on one leg, Chu Xun looked up and as though teasing, he gave Lin Yanchen a subtle smile. “Help me put on the sock for the other side, Xiao Lin.”

Lin Yanchen’s mouth suddenly went dry from being looked at so nonchalantly. As though bewitched, he went to Chu Xun and knelt on one knee.

He held Chu Xun’s heel. Chu Xun has a pair of beautiful legs which is well-proportioned. His legs are not as soft as females, but they are not buff too. They are just right. His ankles are very thin. Lin Yanchen even finds that Chu Xun’s toes are much cuter than others too.

This made his heart pound.

Chu Xun jokingly asked, “Why are your hands shaking when I only asked you to put on the sock for me?”

Lin Yanchen’s face was completely red. He was afraid that he might just kiss Chu Xun’s feet, then kiss upwards along the older’s legs… He couldn’t restrain his imagination and at the same time, he was ashamed of himself, finding himself acting like a pervert.
