Blooming Romance Chapter 16

Happy Chinese New Year!! (*´罒`*) Hope you guys will have a fulfilling 2019~ Wanted to start the new project this week too but don’t have the time for now ahh (´△`) Let’s all do our best in this new year <33

By the time Chu Xun headed back to look for his belongings, his windbreaker had disappeared.

His phone and cash were all in his windbreaker.

Xiao Lin wasn’t in sight too after he walked a big round, wanting to find the younger. Walking around like that, he just ended up losing his way.

This is the big disadvantage of a free and easy trip.

Chu Xun had ignored it before and thought it was unrealistic, unconventional and foolish—is it really interesting to get lost on an unfamiliar street?

Hence, if it was in the past, he needed to write up a detailed plan whenever he travelled.

But now, he realised that as long as there were people, there was nothing money couldn’t solve. If the problem couldn’t be solved for the time being, simply increase the amount of money.

This trip of his was so comfortable. Chu Xun could just throw everything to someone else, not worrying about anything since Xiao Lin had the essentials taken care of properly. There were luxury cars to bring them around, Xiao Lin would carry the things he bought, their accommodation was definitely a luxury hotel and there was a handsome man making him happy anytime and anywhere.

In just a week, he was about to turn into a good-for-nothing.

He went around looking but he didn’t find Lin Yanchen. He wanted to borrow a passer-by’s phone to make a call and yet, before he did that, he suddenly remembered that he didn’t memorise Xiao Lin’s phone number before. How embarrassing.

Losing his wallet and Xiao Lin, as well as getting lost on a foreign street, he was still a tad flustered. Looks like luck needs to be conserved. His luck a few days ago was too good, so he is going to be unlucky today.

However, since the hotel won’t grow legs and run away, he can still somehow meet up with Xiao Lin there. It took only about ten minutes by car to reach this place. This place is in an urban area where cars aren’t allowed to drive at a high speed, so the hotel shouldn’t be too far, just 3 or 4 thousand metres away. Maybe he doesn’t even need to hail a taxi. Just asking around and walking back slowly might take him at most one or two hours.

How is it possible for a grown man like him to get lost? Thinking about the worst possibility, even if there are bad guys, such as human traffickers, around, they won’t abduct a thirty years old uncle. Even if they are interested in his organs, are his dying organs even useful? Chu Xun thought wistfully.

Chu Xun strolled on the street for ten minutes, saw a group of people gathering in front and went over to join the crowd. After all, it’s warmer when there are more people around.

Chu Xun still had the leisure to join the crowd. Oh, it’s a street singer performing.

It wasn’t unusual for a young white man to sit on the roadside with a guitar in his arms and an empty guitar casing opened in front of him. But the white man brought a fat cat along, so it seemed to suddenly make him more noble compared to ordinary singers.

This person’s singing was ordinary, but with the cat sitting extremely obediently and cleverly beside him, occasionally swaying its tail to the music, the humans crowding around were instantaneously cheering and throwing money to express their fondness for it.

How interesting.

Chu Xun remembered that when he was young, he raised a yellow cat at home. It was a very reserved and noble cat others couldn’t approach as and when they liked. The plump, cute male cat, called Mimi, liked to sunbathe in the yard and eat corn. Mimi was, however, very close to him and would come whenever he called it once from the door before he ran out to play. A cat has a lifespan of ten over years. Mimi passed away when he was eighteen years old and he never raised another cat due to that heartbreak.

Chu Xun sighed and stopped for a while to listen to one song.

The singer gently plucked the guitar strings and began to croon,

“He was a friend of mine

Every time I think of him, I just can’t keep from cryin’

He died on the road, He just kept on moving

Never reaped what he could sow

I never had too much money, And I never been quite satisfied

He never done no wrong

A thousand miles from home

And he never harmed no one

Every time I hear his name Lord

I just can’t keep from cryin’, ‘Cause he was a friend of mine”

The singer’s voice was low and husky, full of sadness.

How unlucky. Chu Xun closed his eyes as the song he unintentionally listened to hit him where it hurt.

He endured again and again, but he still couldn’t hold back his tears.

He was on a foreign street where no one knew him anyway.

Why must it be him who dies?

He never did a single bad thing and never hurt anyone.

He was diligent in the work he did, never squandered his money and had self-restrained, always working hard in life.

What on earth did he do wrongly?

He had always avoided thinking about this.

He would take a painkiller when it hurt, then pretend nothing happened.

But it wasn’t as if turning a blind eye to death would mean it wouldn’t come.

What’s the point of being strong? Chu Xun squatted down as his tears flowed uncontrollably.

He really doesn’t want to die at all.

He wants to live. He wants to continue living.

He has never met anything good in his life. His love life, relationship with his family and career life didn’t go well. No one in the world really loves him, but he still wants to live.

“Ah Xun!”

Someone called him.

He turned back weakly.

Lin Yanchen finally found Chu Xun and ran over in a hurry. “Ah Xun, I was worried to death. Why are you squatting here?”

“Why aren’t you wearing your windbreaker? Aren’t you very cold?” Lin Yanchen continued.

He took off his windbreaker and put it on Chu Xun, his body temperature still remaining on his windbreaker.

Chu Xun’s heart that was cooled by desperation seemed to be affected by this body temperature and was slowly warming up.

Lin Yanchen noticed something was off with Chu Xun and squatted down, realising the older was crying. He was taken aback. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry. It’s all my fault for not holding your hand properly and for making you lose your way. Don’t cry anymore, Ah Xun. It’s all my fault…”

Chu Xun smiled through his tears. “You’re the one crying because you got lost! You think I’m a kid?”

Chu Xun sniffled and stood up, legs slightly numb. He told Lin Yanchen, “Come here and give me a hug.”

Lin Yanchen immediately opened his arms and embraced Chu Xun.

Chu Xun hugged Lin Yanchen back. This person was like a heater, emitting heat. He buried his face in Lin Yanchen’s chest, as the younger held him and still remembered to help him put on the windbreaker more securely.

Chu Xun felt much better. Lin Yanchen was his exclusive big pet. When he was down, hugging the younger would make him feel much better.

Lin Yanchen asked, “You’re freezing cold. Where’s your windbreaker?”

“I left my windbreaker on the seat and wanted to go back to take it but it was gone. When I tried to find you again, you were gone too.”

Lin Yanchen said apologetically, “It’s my fault. I’m such an idiot. I didn’t notice you forgot to take your windbreaker. I didn’t notice when you walked away to look for it too.”

“I’m the one who forgot to tell you. I didn’t expect us to get separated… Alright, let’s go back quickly. You gave me your windbreaker. You’re going to catch a cold if you stay out in this cold weather for too long.”

Halfway through, Lin Yanchen asked Chu Xun, “Ah Xun, why were you crying?”

Chu Xun thought about it, tears still hanging on the corners of his eyes, and laughed. “Forget it, just take it as I cried because I got lost.”

Lin Yanchen knew that Chu Xun was hiding something from him. At the beginning, he naively thought Chu Xun was happy with him. However, the longer they stayed together, the more he can feel that Chu Xun is unhappy. What is Chu Xun so sad over?

His intuition tells him that it weren’t just about Chu Xun’s parents and that past love who let Chu Xun down.

Seeming to have cheered up, Chu Xun turned around and as though nothing happened, he said to Lin Yanchen, “I want to go to the Rocky Mountains, ski, skate, head all the way north and finally go see the Northern Lights… That’s it for now. Let’s decide what to do next after we have enough fun. Arrange it well.”

Lin Yanchen hesitated whether or not to ask, but he ended up deciding not to. He nodded and said sulkily, “Okay, I’ll definitely find a way to make you happy.”

How cute can this boy be? Chu Xun initiated a kiss with Lin Yanchen. “Xiao Lin, you’re so sweet.”

Lin Yanchen’s heart leaped a little, face actually starting to turn red.

The next day, they slept in.

Lin Yanchen informed Chu Xun that they would leave at 1 PM.

Chu Xun said on a whim, “Then there should still be enough time. Accompany me to a place.”

“Where?”

The striptease show gave Lin Yanchen a profound lesson. He needed to ask about the details before following Chu Xun anywhere.

Chu Xun replied, “Las Vegas Marriage Bureau.”
